Most of the very old Tibetan scripts are written in wood print. There are also literary works from ancient masters who speak about mental formations, consciousness, mindfulness and generosity, in words of a silent ideology. From this inspiration my design change into a combination of traditional and innovative letters.

The Mahayana typography is created in seven styles, each TrueType font style is designed with 1314 characters. Together are 9.198 Tibetan vector glyphs in the family to find. Please see this typographic as a symbol of friendship, peace and education. In this way the Mahayana font family is unrestricted free to use.

Character glyph structure and Unicode’s (2.2 Mb)

For orientation or to copy the basic and most important glyphs you can open the PDF file. The document shows all necessary Unicode’s to write every word in Tibetan. If you write an special combination (it means thousands of transliterating Sanskrit words), the font script will change your glyphs into an optimized design version.

Some vowel or specific word definition in Tibetan need a computer key combo. To find shortcuts. in this language or instructions without installing Tibetan keyboard on your system, you can use an available virtual on-screen keyboard or read information, how to write and including an Unicode with MS, Linux or OS X.
